Facebook has added a new suite of creative tools to its Ads Manager app in order to better enable advertisers to create campaigns from their mobile devices on the go.
Originally spotted in testing last month, the new tools will make it much easier to build an effective, eye-catching Facebook ad, through the use of simple, mobile-specific tools.
As explained by Facebook:
“As more and more business gets done on mobile, business owners and marketers need tools to create and manage ad campaigns on the go. The new creative tools in Ads Manager allow you to create and edit ad images directly from the app, saving time and effort.”
As demonstrated in the above GIF, the new tools include:
- Text Overlay and Text Policy Checker – The tool enables you to easily add text to your ad, and overlay it across your chosen image. You can select different fonts and adjust the text’s positioning and opacity. Facebook’s also added a ‘text policy checker’, which will notify you if the amount of text exceeds Facebook’s guidelines (which will save time, as opposed to having your ad rejected)
- Image Cropper – Pretty self-explanatory – image cropping enables you to crop images to fit in your ads and Page posts. This type of tool is now available on most social platforms, so the functionality will likely be familiar.
- Templates – Facebook’s also provided a range of templates, which you can customize to your needs, simplifying the ad creation process.
- Shapes, Stickers and Logos – With these tools, you can add your brand’s logo, stickers and shapes to customize your ad and showcase key information about your business.
- Color Filters – And the final element is color filters, which work like Instagram filters to better enhance or highlight specific elements.
The tools will make it easier for social managers to create ads on the go, which could help boost Facebook ad usage. But while it may be easier, common Facebook ads best practices still apply – you should try to stick to a theme, and consider using specific fonts and filters consistently to help enhance your branding.
It’s a good move by Facebook, and will definitely make the ad creation process easier, which will no doubt get more people using ads.
